How we calculate
Your birth moment, in real time
We turn your local birth time into universal time using the historical time zone rules for your birthplace, including daylight saving changes from decades ago.
Sun and Moon from the actual sky
We compute where the Sun and Moon really were using the open-source Astronomy Engine, then map them onto the tropical zodiac (12 signs of 30° each).
Rising from your horizon
Your Rising sign is the zodiac sign coming up on the eastern horizon at your exact time and place. It moves about one sign every 2 hours, so the birth time matters a lot.
When the sky changes on your birthday
If you don’t know your time and the Sun or Moon changed signs that day, we ask a tiebreaker question. Without a time, the Rising Guesser estimates your Rising from your vibe and tells you how sure it is.
We don't store your birth details. Your result link only includes your three signs. Astrology here is for fun: it describes personality vibes, not predictions.
